Standing Liberty Silver Quarter 40 Coin Roll Clear Date Set Lot Good or Better. A 40 piece roll of genuine Standing Liberty Silver Quarters in Good or Better Condition with Clear Dates. Each coin weighs 6.25 grams and contains 90% Silver net weight. The images used for this listing are stock photos from our inventory. This type quarter was designed by Hermon A. The left arm of Liberty is upraised, uncovering a shield in the attitude of protection. Her right hand bears the olive branch of peace. MacNeils initial M is located above and to the right of the date. There was a modification in 1917 to cover Libertys exposed breast. The reverse has a new arrangement of the stars, and the eagle is higher. In 1925 a depression was made in the pedestal on which Liberty stands and that bears the date. On the earlier issues the dates wore off easily because they were too high and were not protected by other features of the coin. The new recessed dates proved more durable as a result of this change.
