The Georgia edition, the forty-forth in the series, celebrates Cumberland Island National Seashore. These coins, which share that design, were issued as part of the San Francisco Mint’s Reverse Proof Set, which has a maximum mintage of 200,000 sets. An “S” mint mark is included on the obverse. Each coin in this roll remains in GEM Proof condition. Striking Snowy Egret Design by Donna Weaver. Like all of the other issues in the America the Beautiful Series, these coins bear John Flanagan’s portrait of President George Washington on the obverse. The portrait has been a fixture on quarters since 1932. The President bears a stern, confident countenance. “LIBERTY” and “IN GOD WE TRUST” flank the portrait, while rim inscriptions offer the coins’ country and face value. Donna Weaver’s reverse features a snowy egret on a branch. The thin bird has its wings spread out. In the background is a salt marsh. Rim inscriptions include “CUMBERLAND ISLAND” and “GEORGIA, ” as well as the date, “2018, ” and E PLURIBUS UNUM.
