Complete Roll BU 1959 Washington Quarters – all 40 coins are Type B Reverse. This was a unique and amazing find. Booming original luster and excellent surface quality. The coins have been in an old generation plastic tube since the early 70s. (See last couple pictures). Please note, the last 2 pictures are pictures of the entire hoard of 46 BU quarter rolls from which this roll was found in. The 3rd and 4th pictures from the end, (pic9 and 10), are a side by side comparison of a type A and type B reverse. Pictures 9 & 10 show 2 quarters side by side. The type B reverse is on the left and the type A reverse on the right in both photos. No other rolls or individual coins had any type B reverse quarters within. All of the rolls were dated 1958 to 1964 with the exception of one dated 1954-S. Some of the hubs with Type B reverse ended up being used on some business strikes in Philadelphia. Of them all the 1956 are considered downright rare. All type B reverses on any date are very scarce. More information can be found in the Cherrypickers Guide. I do not want to assign grades to these coins but I can pretty much guarantee from 20+ years experience the majority of these coins are gem or near gem.
